Rough weather fears subside as Hong Kong Observatory downgrades typhoon signal to No 1

Fears of rough weather in Hong Kong subsided on Sunday morning as the city’s Observatory downgraded the typhoon signal No 3 to the standby signal No 1.As of 11am on Sunday, typhoon Nuri was about 260km west-southeast of the city and the weather forecaster said that it was expected to move northwest and weaken gradually.The signal No 1 was issued at 10.40am on Sunday, replacing the signal No 3 which was issued at 3.40pm on Saturday.“Local winds continue to moderate.
